Why we built Faber
TODO — company story not yet supplied
The founding story and mission copy for this page need to come from
IT Guru Solutions directly, along with any existing About copy from their own site
to stay consistent with. This block is deliberately visible so it cannot ship
unnoticed. Set CONTENT_PENDING.aboutStory to
true in src/data/site.js once
the real copy replaces the section below.
The problem
Namibian businesses building web applications have had two options: host overseas and accept the latency, the foreign-currency billing and the declined cards, or run their own servers and take on the operational burden that comes with them. Neither is a good answer for a small team that just wants to ship.
What Faber does about it
Faber is managed application hosting that runs inside Namibia. You connect a Git repository and push; Faber builds and deploys it, handles SSL, and bills you in Namibian dollars. The workflow is the same one you would get from an international platform — the difference is where the servers are and whose network they sit on.
Who builds and runs it
Faber is a Gigapulse product. Gigapulse is the software arm of IT Guru Solutions, and the infrastructure underneath Faber runs on Giganet Internet Services, also part of IT Guru Solutions. That means the company writing the platform and the company running the network it sits on are the same organisation — there is no third party in between when something needs fixing.
