TODO — draft, not legally reviewed
A generated starting point only. Before launch this needs review against Namibian data protection requirements and against what the platform actually does — the data categories below were written from the documented architecture, but the authoritative list is whatever the application and provisioning service really store and log. Confirm the third-party processors too: the payment gateway and any analytics are named as placeholders of category, not of vendor.
1. Who we are
Faber is an application hosting service operated by IT Guru Solutions. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use the Faber website and platform, why we collect it, and what we do with it.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you give us
- Account details — name, email address, and company name where supplied.
- Authentication data — a hashed password, or your GitHub account identifier if you sign in with GitHub.
- Billing details — processed by our payment gateway; we do not store full card numbers.
- Correspondence — messages you send us through support or the contact form.
2.2 Information we collect automatically
- Deployment and platform activity — builds, deployments, configuration changes and their timestamps.
- Resource usage — compute, storage and bandwidth consumption used for billing and limit enforcement.
- Technical logs — including IP addresses, needed to operate and secure the platform.
3. Why we use it
- To provide the service — provisioning, deploying and running your applications.
- To bill you and to enforce the resource limits attached to your plan.
- To provide support and respond to enquiries.
- To secure the platform, investigate abuse and meet legal obligations.
- To send service communications about outages, maintenance and changes to terms.
4. Where your data is held
Application data and platform data are held on infrastructure located in Namibia, operated on Giganet Internet Services' network. Some limited processing occurs outside Namibia where third-party processors are involved — for example payment processing and email delivery.
5. Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with processors acting on our instructions — a payment gateway for billing, an email provider for service communications, and our infrastructure operator — or where required by law.
6. Retention
Account and billing records are retained for as long as the account is active and thereafter for the period required by applicable tax and company law. Technical logs are retained for a shorter operational period. Application data is deleted following account termination, after the export window described in the Terms of Service.
7. Your rights
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, or request deletion where we are not required to retain it. Requests can be made through the contact channels below.
8. Cookies
This marketing website sets no tracking cookies. The Faber dashboard uses a session cookie that is strictly necessary to keep you signed in.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated to the email address on your account before they take effect.
10. Contact
Privacy questions and requests can be raised through our contact page.
